Cousins. x Tigers x Oilers

In August we were invited by our friends at the Edmonton Oilers to set up some mobile ramps outside at the Ice District. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to skate and we partnered with our pals at the Tigers Skateboard Club to put together a fun evening for the community. Thanks to the Oilers crew for giving us a tour of the rink and shout out to Jeff Khounthavong for putting together a great video.

Tomorrow is the public day for #holybowly and the Mînî Thnî will be out in full force for our last Sunshine ride day for the season. Thanks to @snowboyproductions for putting together such a rad event and letting us be a part of it. Last year they donated the proceeds of the public ride day to us and it helped pay for winter programs this year! Isinêys to Krush and the @snowboyproductions crew for letting us kick off this year’s #holybowly with a proper round dance. @buckyclassic is the mvp for setting it all up and having Nakoda Nation come and drum. This round dance celebrates our relationship to each other and the land we share together. We honor the history and connection that the Stoney’s have with these mountains. When Wes and Jay from @dakotaskateboards and @microwaveskateshop invited us to get in on the ditch jam when we’re in town we were hyped. Our first time skating a ditch. Everybody we met was rad and we. Any wait to do something with those guys again. Thank you!!

Some of us will be down in NM this week to check out the Gathering and the All Nations Skate Jam. We’re also excited to join up with our friends @dakotaskateboards and @microwaveskateshop for the Ditch, please! skate jam on Saturday. None of us are the best ditch skaters, but you’re never too old to learn!
This season, our friends @nitrosnowboardscanada have been amazing. They donated a bunch of boards and bindings so everyone could get new set ups. They also gave us a bundle of new @l1_premium_goods jackets to keep us warm and make it easier to track each other down when we’re on the mountain. Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. Stopped into the new indoor spot in Forest Lawn. It’s in the Salvation Army building and it’s free! Ran into our friends @theinsidecanada who will be doing a weekly program there. It was great to see @leviswitzer and his beautiful family. The Stoney boys @rileykaquitts and @lanebenjamin__ are getting better every time we see them! Looking forward to spring so we can get back to weekly programs 🧡
Our Cree brother @lightning.cody keeps doing big things. He acted as a kid in one of the most economic native movies ever. He’s spent time as a youth worker in community supporting kids. Now you can see him in the Marvel universe and on billboards across Canada. Dude also skates like a madman 🙏🏽. We love to see our friends succeed! He just released a rad film called “Hey Victor”. It’s a mocumentory comedy that follows his life after child stardom. It’ll make you ugly laugh. It’s got a fair amount of cuss words and the content is for the grown ups, so don’t bring your little ones this time, haha. Cody has been repping hard in all his interviews and we’ve been getting love from all over the place. It means the world to us. 🧡 Hiy Hiy
Managed to grab a few clips from the session last night. We white knuckled it through some sketchy winter roads but we all made it back safe and sound.
